The joy of a gently lit mess

Aftermath, kitchen sink. 2011

It seems such a trivial thing, but this place where we spend so much of our life, standing there, staring blankly ahead – it’s nice if you can enjoy what you are looking at.

The kitchen window faces north by northwest, and delivers a perfect stream of cool light whenever there is even the thinnest sliver of clear blue sky (which, being Arizona, is most of the time).

I’ve always felt that a fresh mess is the surest sign that stuff is happening, life is afoot. Vive le désordre!
